Yesterday after missing my bus on the way to a gig I ended up walking. I would have been plenty early however walking put me a bit late. it was frustrating! However the walk taught me a lot and allowed me to clear my mind before the shoot. On the way I found this peculiar sewer cap that seemed just happy to be a sewer cap. It reminded me of something. Whoever I am, wherever I am, I should be glad that I get to enjoy what I am doing. Jealousy doesn’t get me success but helping other people succeed should be something to have joy in. I get so wrapped up in life that I forget that I get these amazing opportunities. Working camera in hand with talented people making projects for people doing extraordinary things all over the world. I am absolutely blessed regardless of where I am and what I am doing but Jesus continues to give me opportunity to use the gifts he had given me in unique places. Tomorrow is no exception. Introducing Mr Rene Garzona (@renegarzona). This dude is an inspiration. He loves Jesus with all his heart, loves his wife (@mrsgarzona), and works for one of the most influential and fastest growing churches in the nation. All just to serve and love Jesus. Not only that, but has he single handedly got me into the true love for the Mexican and Central America cuisine (I’m not talking burritos or nachos) and he has been a genuine and generous friend to me since the day he moved to Seattle. Rene moved up here to Seattle faith because God called him here. Left a good job for an unpaid internship. It has been a huge inspiration to see and experience him grow closer to Christ through ups of “relying on Jesus” and downs of trying to “figure it out.” Thanks for your continuing inspiration to love and enjoy Jesus! Ohmega Watts, @brokin_nglish and Milt are just a few names that Milton is known by. A photographer, graphic designer, and filmmaker are all just the beginning of what he does. He comes from Brooklyn but has lived in many places. He now calls Seattle home, at least for now. Milton is a genuine and creative man soaking in the world around him. Last Thursday, @LauraKathleen_ showed me some of her favorite spots in downtown LA. My friend Liz introduced me to Laura. Among the things she showed me were beautiful architecture, an amazing bookstore, a trolly that takes you to the top of bunker hill, the bench from 500 days of summer (which I haven’t seen yet), and among many other things along the adventure. Laura is an aspiring photographer who is absolutely in love with LA. It is her favorite city in the country (Although she did say that Seattle might be her second favorite). It’s not too often you come across someone like Sarah (@buttonbox). With such a contagious smile that reflects her joy for life! There are so many ways to describe her that I can’t think of where to start. I have had a couple opportunities to watch and experience Sarah just love and care for her friends. She is obviously an inspiration to her friends. I met Sarah at church (@marshilloc) a week ago which has turned into a few opportunities to hang out, and she has become someone who I am excited to call a friend. Throughout the last week we’ve had a few adventures with friends, but yesterday after church we had the opportunity to walk with friends down Newport Beach and admire the vastness of the grand Pacific Ocean standing safely on the sand. Conversation about how God has changed our perspective to enjoy the simpler things. How we’ve learned that loving people is different from pleasing people. How our identities were not rooted in popularity, but in Jesus. It has been an encouragement to me to get to know Sarah, and her friends. Thank you Jesus!
